Sustainability is the new trend word in fashion these days. I think that we all love to see natural beauty, and the fashion Industry is making great strives to rectify their polluting practices and trying to incorporate sustainable measures..

In my current company we are challenged each day to design using fabrics that are either sustainable or recycled. We have a very long way to go, but it's a start.

Some of the more progressive kids companies out there are companies like, Stella McCartney, Bobo choses, Finn&Emma, Art&Eden, etc. The list goes on. Not all of these companies policies are the same so if this is an important issue for you when you shop, scroll down to the bottom of their website and see what their sustainable practices are, this is a good thing to do with all websites as this has become a new category in their footnote links.

This Month I am going to delve into brands and see what their policies are towards sustainability. Below are a few brands, the two Brands Bobo choses and Stella McCartney I have listed below with some of their sustainable practices. So look below at these cute styles and I will recap what their brands are doing for being sustainable!

Bobo Choses: Wow so they are multi facetted in their sustainable Marketing. Below are very basic key points, you can read more in detail on their Website.

1. 62% of their cotton in kids is GOTS certified (Global Organic Textile- click the link for more info)

2. Their garments are made locally in Spain and portugal

3. (CSR) Corporate responsibility is listed on their website, they are a little vague on specific organizations they help

4. Their garments are free of nickel and chromium

5. they have a reuse, recycle, re-duce policy

6. Packaging is 100% recyclable and reusable

Stella McCartney: Again very detailed in their sustainable mission! below are only a few points from their website, but there is in depth information on where they stand on many issues.

1. For kids apparel they use organic cotton, recycled poly & nylon, viscose and tencel that are derived from wood pulp

2. 50% of their paper is either recycled or from a source that doesn't promote deforestation

3. They are HUGE on their stance of no animal materials or testing

4. Eco stores and offices
